| What Would Reagan Do? |

William. R. Collier Jr. From The Freedomist Blog When we consider the terrible state of affairs we are in today, with a national government that is spending money that is basically no more than "legal tender" printed in Timothy Geithner's back room, and when we consider the seeming "might" of the "Progressive Movement" of media-courts-party-state we have to ask, how should we who are like the 65% of Americans who APPROVED of Reagan at the end of his term deal with the Progressive Elitists who seem to have no check against their power and who face no resistance, not even from the "party of Reagan"?
Reagan was asked this question about the USSR before he won the election in 1980 and he answered it like this "it's simple, we win, they lose." Reagan believed in American exceptionalism, he believed that America was a shining city on a hill, and he ended years of progressive eltists in BOTH parties talking DOWN to Americans, telling America what was "wrong" with us, trying to portray America is an "ordinary nation" with no special claims to future purpose or past glory. Theses progressive elitists over-emphasized and expanded upon every fault as a great "sin" or evil that was larger than all the good done, all the millions of lives saved and freed by America's promise and America's might! Those who think that hearkening back to his wisdom and learning from his example are somehow MERELY an attenpt to "restore lost glory" forget that history repeats itself and they also forget something that Progressives deny- some truths are universal, absolute, and ALWAYS useful to know, to remember, and to follow! Reagan looked the other side straight in the eye and said, "we win, you lose", THAT was his policy, that was his aim. Allow me to take some liberty with a Reagan quote to illsutrate what I beleive Reagan would do RIGHT NOW if HE was in our shoes: (Extrapolated from the Jan. 29. 1981 Presidential Press Conference) Goals of the Progressive Movement Versus "Bipartisanship" Q. Reagan 2.0, what do you see as the long-range intentions of the Progressives in Washington DC, led by Harry Reid, Nancy Pelosi, and President Barack Obama? Do you think, for instance, the progressives are bent on absolute political domination that might lead to a new crisis of freedom, or do you think that under other circumstances bipartisanship is possible or that the new Republican party should move to the center, away from its present fiscal and social conservative platform? Regan 2.0- Well, so far bipartisanship's been a one-way street that the Progressives have used to pursue their own aims. We don't have to think of an answer as to what we think their intentions are; they have repeated it. We know of no leader of the Progressive Movement since Woodrow Wilson or Franklin D. Roosevelt, and including the present leadership, that has not more than once repeated in the various meetings, websites, clubs, and books they have produced that their goal must be the promotion of new society modeleld on secularism, socialism, even if by different names, and some form of "political correctness" all reaching towards some form of international order in which America is a second rate power of no greater significance than any other nation. Now, as long as they do that and as long as they, at the same time, have openly and publicly declared that while the moral values of religious people are unwelcome in the debate about public policy, the aspirations of entrepreneurs, whom they label as robbers or thieves while filling the pockets of the idle with the taxes plundered by the producing class, are suspect, and that the only morality they recognize is what will further their cause, meaning they reserve unto themselves the right to commit any wrongdoing, to censure facts and truth, to create fake controversies and literally make things up to defame their oppositions, to criminalize and "investigate" their opponents, to lie, to cheat, in order to attain that, and that is moral, not immoral, and we operate on a different set of standards, We think when you "engage" them, at any level, you keep that in mind. We think it's high time the people who believe that America IS a city shining on a hill, that the principles of our virtue and our respect for religious, economic, and political rights are STILL VALID and must be respected by all and OBEYED by our leaders, and that "a rising tide lifts all boats", not a DRAIN on the people who produce America's wealth to buy the votes of those who have not been given the OPPORTUNITY to become self reliant and self-sufficient, and people who beleive in American exceptionalism both in our past glories and our future promise should start to say AS ONE to those whose "vision" for America is rooted in mediocrity, victimization, intolerance, and a bias against all things uniquely American "our plan is simple- it is NOT to be be bipartisan or to change OUR platform or our values to fit YOUR plans for us, our plan is this- WE WIN, YOU LOSE!" Nothing less has even been a sufficient response and nothing less will do now. ------- Good Advice Mr. and Mrs. Reagan 2.0! Good advice indeed!
