Privacy Policy
We take protecting your Personal Data very seriously

By registering you agree to comply with the terms and conditions of this Privacy Policy, and that we and any User may use your Personal Data as described in this Privacy Policy or the Terms of Service.

Personal Data may be processed by us about User(s) in the country where it was collected as well as other countries (including the United States) where laws regarding processing of Personal Data may be less stringent.

Collection of User Information

Once you register with us and sign in we know who you are.

When registering you provide Personal Data, which includes a username and a password, an email address and, optionally, a photo and a phone number and other information that we, nosily, might invite you to give us.

To combat online fraud, we may also record your IP address when submitting information.

Also, if you register in Reagan2.comís social network you will be operating within Ning.com and will be subject to its Terms of Service and Privacy Policy, which you should go read.   We are not Ning and Ning is not us.  It's just one of those cool and not meant to be sneaky Internet things, but you are subject to two sets of policies.

We can in theory, and might actually some day, validate the domain from which your email address originates (e.g., gmail.com or hotmail.com).

Keep your password secure.

We do not intentionally gather Personal Data about visitors who are under the age of 13.  But if you are under 13, you'll probably have a better time at Planet Penguin, so just go there, OK?  If you are a young prodigy geek (or wonk) and insist on hanging out here, make sure it's OK with your Mom and Dad.  They're on your side.  Really.

Cookies and Passive Data Collection

We automatically receive and record information on our server logs from your browser, including your IP address, cookie information, and the page you request.

Other websites visited before entering here might place personally identifiable information within a User's URL during a visit to their website.  We have no control over such websites. Accordingly, some of this information may be logged by a subsequent website that collects URL information.  Frankly, it's of no interest to us, but there it is.  Or might be.  We're way too busy to look at it, and itís way too boring to be worth looking at, but we suppose that could change our mind some day.

Content and Use of Networks

When you post Content (or send messages) here that enable direct sharing of information with other Users and visitors, other Users and visitors will have access to any Personal Data in such Content. We actually read what you write a lot of the time.  Which, we hope, is the point of your writing it. Such information, displayed with your ID and photo, if you uploaded one, is available to Users and visitors.  (Duh!)  Try to use a photo that doesn't look like a drivers license or hideous passport shot.  Actual people will see it.

Because you may voluntarily disclose any Personal Data in these public areas, you should be careful about the information you choose to disclose. We do not control your disclosures, and are not liable in any way for anyone's use or misuse of the information in the disclosure. In other words, use caution and judgment here.  Use good judgment.

How We Use Information

We will send you administrative messages, and email updates, about stuff we find interesting. (If you get sick of us, you can always leave the group.)  We may also send you notices of new Content that has been added in which you may be interested. In some cases, we may also send you primarily promotional messages. If we send you too much boring stuff, just unsubscribe or leave the community and please don't hassle us about it.

Cookies and Passive Data Collection

We use cookie, IP address, and URL information to improve the content of our platform and servers, and to provide enhanced features to Users, where available. We might use cookies to save Users' IDs, session validators, and on Users' browsers and hard drives, and may use them to provide tailored products and services to those Users, as they become available.  We're not sure if we actually do that, but we'd sure like to.  And WARNING, these are NOT GIRL SCOUT TYPE COOKIES, THEY ARE SOME KIND OF MYSTERIOUS INTERNET SOFTWARE THING THAT ONLY OUR TECHNOLOGY GURU AT TANGERINE-SKY.COM UNDERSTANDS AND SOMETIMES WE'RE NOT SURE WHETHER HE DOES EITHER.  But when he doesn't understand, and needs to, he asks his friend Gus, who is a genius.

IP Addresses can also help us to diagnose problems with our server, to administer the Platform, and to otherwise provide service to our users. IP addresses may be disclosed to a third party if we believe in good faith that the law or legal process requires it, or to protect the rights or property of Reagan2.com, its Users or the general public.

Disclosures

We have never rented or sold the email addresses we collect or other Personal Information, and we have never shared Personal Information with third parties except in the limited circumstances described in this Privacy Policy.  But we suppose we could someday.  If so, this is how weíll do it.  If someone wants us to send you a message and pays us for the privilege (or if we merely like them, or the message), we make them hand it over to us and we'll email you or whatever.

Our Service Providers

We may need to provide your Personal Data to third parties to deliver specific services to you (such as hosting services, support services, or credit card payment processing). These third parties are required not to disclose your Personal Data and not to use your Personal Data other than to provide the services we hire them to provide.

We require each Network Creator to comply with applicable laws (e.g., CAN-SPAM) and Ning's rules with respect to the Network Creators' use of your Personal Data.

Law Enforcement

We may disclose Personal Data if required by a subpoena or other judicial or administrative order, where required by law, or, at our sole discretion, where we deem necessary to protect the safety of any individual or the general public or to prevent violation of our Terms of Service or the rights of Reagan2.com or any third party.

Our Affiliates

Although we don't currently have a parent company (or even a child company, for that matter), any subsidiaries, joint ventures, or other companies under a common control (collectively, "affiliates"), there is a tiny chance that we may in the future. We may share some of all of your Personal Data with these affiliates, in which case we will seek to require our affiliates to honor this Privacy Policy.

Change of Ownership

In the event of a change in ownership, or a merger with, acquisition by, or sale of assets to, another entity, we reserve the right to transfer all of our User information, including email addresses, to a separate entity. We will notify Users (via a posting on this site or email (in our discretion) of such a transfer, and Users may choose to modify their registration information at that time. This means if you are concerned about your Personal Data migrating to a new owner, you can deactivate your account.

Security

We use our best efforts to protect against the loss, misuse and alteration of the information under our control. Although we make good faith efforts to store the information collected in a reasonably secure operating environment that is not available to the public, we cannot guarantee complete security.  We are Joomla! based and that doesn't have the same level of bullet-proof security as, for example, we'd guess that Google has.  Yes, itís true.  We could get hacked.  (Even the big guys do, occasionally.)

Further, we cannot guarantee that our security measures will prevent third-party "hackers" from illegally obtaining this information. We disclaim any liability to you, if this happens, or to any third parties whose information may be included in your Address Book.  If you don't like this disclaimer, scram.  Now.

Updating or Removing User Information

Users may, at any time, choose to correct or update the information. Users may remove their User information from our live database by canceling their account. Even if you update or remove your information from our live database, however, your Personal Data may be retained in our backup files and archives.

If you believe in conspiracies and stuff, go register at www.BreakTheMatrix.com instead and leave us alone.

No Spam Policy

We forbid  absolutely forbid, got it?  you from engaging in any activity involving the sending of email in violation of applicable law. Violations of these policies may result in immediate termination of service and legal action against any spammers.

Any unauthorized use of our computer systems is a violation of the Terms of Service and certain federal and state laws, including without limitation the Computer Fraud and Abuse Act (18 U.S.C. section 1030 et seq.). Such violations may subject the sender and his or her agents to civil and criminal penalties.

By visiting and providing us with data, you acknowledge and agree that due to the international dimension of the Web we may use the data collected in the course of our relationship for the purposes identified in this Privacy Policy or in our other communications with you, including the transmission of information outside your resident jurisdiction. In addition, please understand that such data may be stored on servers located in the United States where laws protecting Personal Data may not be as stringent as the laws in your jurisdiction. By providing us with your data, you consent to the transfer of such data.

Revisions to This Policy

We reserve the right to revise, amend, or modify this policy and our other policies and agreements at any time and in any manner. Notice of any revision, amendment, or modification will be posted here and a User's continued use of Reagan2.com will signify agreement to such changes.
